1. Who You Are – In a few sentences, tell us about yourself and/or your ministry and what you do to serve pastors.
I serve those who serve others in and beyond the church through non-formal and informal training engagements. The indigenous ministry that I work through is called Leadership Transformation Ministries. The ministry seeks to develop healthy, biblically-grounded, and culturally informed leaders who build healthy churches that build healthy society.
2. Why Pastoral Leaders Matter – Why is training pastors a priority in your ministry or work?
Training pastors is a priority in ministry work in Ethiopia because pastors shape the spiritual, ethical, and social life of large communities. Well-trained pastors ensure sound biblical teaching, strong leadership, cultural relevance, and responsible responses to social challenges… helping the Church grow in unity, integrity, and long-term impact.
3. Developing Pastor Trainers – How are you helping raise up new trainers of pastors where you serve?
I help raise new trainers of pastors by conducting training needs assessments, developing context-specific curricula, training trainers, identifying and equipping suitable pastors, building communities of practice, assessing and certifying their growth, and providing ongoing follow-up and support. I involve church denomination leaders, theology schools, and like-minded ministries.
4. Better Together – Why does collaboration across pastor-training sectors matter to your work?
Collaboration across pastor-training sectors matters because it strengthens quality, avoids duplication, shares resources and expertise, ensures contextual relevance, and enables wider, sustainable impact in equipping pastors to serve the Church and society effectively. It also creates synergy and movement, and reinforces pastoral training culture.
5. Join the Work – How can others connect with you or get involved in what you’re doing?
Others can connect with me by partnering in pastor training initiatives, by sharing best practices, contributing expertise or resources, participating as trainers or mentors, supporting curriculum development, and collaborating in research, evaluation, and follow-up to strengthen sustainable pastoral leadership development.
