Multiplying What Matters: A Facilitation Framework for Developing Trainers of Pastors

Summary:

The March First Monday Gathering emphasized that pastor training is both a biblical mandate and a strategic necessity for church and societal health.

Representatives from BEE World (soon to be BeMultiplied) shared their experience equipping leaders in limited-access regions through a facilitation-based, multiplication-focused model. Rooted in 2 Timothy 2:2, their approach prioritizes intentional generational design over event-based training. They described three dimensions of formation—knowledge (curriculum-centered learning), character (spiritual transformation), and practice (contextualized application)—as essential for sustainable impact.

The model emphasizes local propagation, governance, and funding to ensure long-term ownership and independence. Participants engaged in multilingual breakout discussions and concluded by reflecting on humility, mentoring, and the urgent need for reproducible, scalable pastoral training worldwide.

Discussion Questions

Reflective

  1. If your current training efforts ceased tomorrow, would leadership development continue and multiply? Why or why not?
  2. What personal shifts in humility, control, or leadership style might be necessary for us to move from leading training ourselves to developing trainers who can lead without us?

Action-Oriented

  1. What practical steps can you take in the next six months to intentionally design reproduction into your training model from the beginning?
  2. How can you begin transferring ownership—curricularly, structurally, or financially—to local leaders to strengthen sustainability and generational impact?
